Folgende Geschichte zu diesem Bus hab ich im Internet gefunden:
Tribute to my Uncle Brian, what 3 VW's and a Vietnam Vet did in his spare time.
It has been about 12 years since my Uncle Brian has passed away from a tree safety line failure while doing some trimming in
their property out in West Linn when his line broke and fell to his death. Brian in my life time was always battling a tough
time being alive since he was a Vietnam War veteran with a good level of PTSD. Sad thing was shortly before his passing he
became to enjoy life again, and some of the best moments of his life was right before he died.
Well, in the early 1980's Brian and my father had an idea with a few of their VW items, creating a VW Bus lenghtened to about
1 2/3'' overall length, from what my father said it was nearly 2 bus' in length. They took 2 Bus' and made one extended one,
and with such popular demand was in many parades/events shortly after being made and finished. They had a VW Bug with rear
damage I beleive, sliced it at the body line below the glass level and welded the top of it to the top as a "lookout."
To my knowledge when his property was sold to Danny Ainge of the NBA world, someone bought the bus and cleaned it up to use
in their art garden. My father and I have an idea on its location so better pics will hopefully be found. As for now, This
is all we have photo wise, sad thing is that the image was taken once it was sitting for some 10+ years.
